AC Chair Car: You can opt for this class if you have to travel for a few hours. You can also order food from the onboard catering service.

How to Check Indian Train Enquiry

To check Indian train status you need to visit NTES which gives you information about train location by tracking the live location of the train with the help of Global Positioning System (GPS), giving you information about the train’s current station, departure from the previous station and estimated arrival time at the next station. Follow the steps given below to check live status of trains.
Once you are on the NTES website you will see a list of nine options in the top tab. Select the specific tab and type the station name to know the status of your train.

Click on Trains between Stations, type the departure and destination train station and train type to get information about the train schedule. To spot a train, select Spot your train and enter the train name or number. To get fast and accurate results, it is better to give the name of the train.

Clicking on Train Cancelled will give you detailed information about fully cancelled trains and partially cancelled trains. Fully cancelled trains are trains that do not run from their origin station to the destination station, while partially cancelled trains run only on a part of the route. Just type in the train number and start date to get information about cancelled trains.

To check if your train has been rescheduled or not, select Rescheduled Trains, which will give you information about rescheduled trains. Fill in your train number to check if it has been rescheduled or not. Similarly, you can also get information about diverted trains.

What is Railway TDR?

Answer: TDR stands for train ticket deposit receipt. There is no train ticket deposit receipt in e-tickets. To file TDR for train tickets booked on IRCTC, you need to first log in to your account and go to ‘Booked Indian Train Ticket History’. You should check the list of train tickets whose journey date has expired. Select the PNR for which you want to file TDR and click on ‘File TDR’.
